In the Matthew 25:35 scripture, I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home. We know that our responsibility as Christians is to help those who are in need in our community. St. Ambrose has a strong legacy of community outreach and during the COVID-19 pandemic, that tradition continues.

Since May, church volunteers have participated in food distribution programs starting with the Food Bank of NC and area churches. We continued this effort with Fertile Ground, a food co-op in Southeast Raleigh and other churches and currently, a small group of volunteers are engaged in food distribution with the UCAN (Urban Community Agronomics) effort delivering food to eleven families in our community surrounding St. Ambrose. We will continue this monthly food distribution through December.

The next food distribution will be Friday, October 23.
