Eerie and Timely Lessons: The Haitian Revolution and the Black Church
This Bible study explores the role that greed, racial prejudice, coloration, and faith played in the build up to the Haitian revolution, and how it serves as an invaluable source to understand the development of the Americas and Western Europe. We also look at how these same factors are aligning or repelling in very similar ways today, and so help us to position ourselves and our churches to prepare for either savage upheaval, or taking advantage of opportunities to serve society.
The recommended text is “The Black Jacobins“, by CLR James.
Dates: November 5, 12, and 19. December 3 and 10.
A five part Bible study on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm via Zoom online or by phone 646-558-8656.
Meeting ID 701 965 274, Passcode 1868.
