Worship to God

We believe we exist to worship God and intentionally equip our congregation to give God praise.

Our patron saint, Bishop Ambrose of Milan, lived in Italy during the 300s C.E. According to tradition, bees landed on his face as a child, leaving honey on his lips. He was a gifted orator, earning him the name “the honeyed tongue preacher.” The bees and the beehive are historic symbols of Saint Ambrose.

Learn about Us

What can I expect when I attend a service?

We’re delighted to have a structured service that enables us to focus on our heart-centered worship of God. If this is your first time attending an Episcopalian service, it may remind you of a Catholic service, but we’re very different.

Learn How We’re Different

What is your congregation like?

As a historically African American Episcopal Church, we have a diverse congregation of all ages. We are radically welcoming, infinitely supportive and intentionally focused on transforming our communities, big and small, through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Learn About Us

What is your denomination?

We are an Episcopal church. This means the center of our teaching and worship is the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Learn What to Expect

There are Black Episcopalians?

Absolutely! 4% of Episcopalians are Black, making our worshipping family 80,000 strong in the US alone. In fact, our church has XXX members of which about XX% are African American.
